Where can I use digital signage?

Locating your digital sign A store-front digital signage display can advertise even when your business is closed, but check local ordinances first.

A digital sign can go anywhere you would normally put a printed sign or poster: in a store window, on a counter, on an aisle or back wall, or maybe in your booth at a tradeshow.  You'll need a power outlet nearby and for some digital signage systems you might also need a wireless or hardwired network connection, but you won't need a network connection for SignSwift if you use it with a stand-alone, flash-memory-based player.

Pick your location carefully: avoid direct sunlight and try to get the display at eye level. The message you are trying to communicate will also influence where you should put your digital sign:

From a far distance you might want to attract customers into your store, tradeshow booth or other location using a sign mounted high up with few words on it. From a medium distance you want to direct people to the right aisle or area within your store with a sign mounted on the end of the aisle. From a close-up distance you may want to influence them to purchase a specific product using a shelf-mounted sign or a digital frame on a counter-top. Understanding this will help you select your content and give you some idea how many words to use on each display (most people use too many, so plan now to use fewer!)
